MOIRÉ WILD SILK - Description and Features
Moiré Wild Silk is an acrylic based, multiple-effect decorative coating. It looks and feels like fine silk. Surfaces will shimmer with reflective gold, iridescent, or silver effects. It’s extremely easy to use, even the most novice applicator can get professional results.
It may be used on new or old surfaces. It is perfect for bathrooms, kitchens, interior ceilings and walls, residential, hospitality, restaurants, casinos, theaters, corporate offices, health care facilities, and other commercial environments. Moiré Wild Silk appears textured but is smooth to the touch and feels like silk. It can be easily painted over when the time comes to change.
Moiré Wild Silk is made with non-toxic, earth-friendly materials. It is easy to tint, durable, mold and mildew resistant, and low V.O.C. It is simple to maintain and repair.
The coverage rate of a 3.4 KG container is approximately 175-250 square feet, two coats. It is sold by weight, not volume. It does not require polishing or sanding. A sealing topcoat is not required in applications over most wall surfaces. On wood, metal, or concrete surfaces, use a recommended primer/sealer.

Moire’ Wild Silk is applied over a properly prepared and painted surface. We recommend a good quality acrylic paint with an eggshell finish. Allow the painted surface to dry overnight. Apply Moire’ Wild Silk in two thin layers. Do not over-apply. Thin layers create deeper richness, eliminate drips or runs, and provide greater square foot coverage. We recommend that Moire’ Wild Silk be applied in one of the three simple techniques detailed below.
Technique 1: Roll On Cross Hatch
With a good quality synthetic brush, cut into the ceiling line and edge. While still wet, soften with the 4”-6” half-inch nap roller in 6” to 8” passes going in every direction. Although the pattern is random, each pass should be consistent in length. Continue along the wall, cutting in, edging, and rolling in manageable sections. Allow the first layer to dry completely. Roll on a second layer to soften the overall look and extend the life and wear of the finish. Because the application is completely random, any needed touch up will blend into the wall surface when done in a similarly random manner.
Technique 2: Brush On Cross Hatch
As in the Roll On Cross Hatch technique above, use a good quality synthetic brush to cut into the ceiling line and edge. Instead of a 4”-6” half-inch nap roller, apply a thin layer of Moire’ Wild Silk in a random cross hatch pattern with brush strokes of 6” to 8” going in every direction.
Although the pattern is random, each pass should be consistent in length. Continue along the wall, cutting in,
edging, and brushing in manageable sections. Allow the
first layer to dry completely. Brush on a second layer to soften the overall look and extend the life and wear of the
finish. Because the application is completely random, any needed touch up will blend into the wall surface when done in a similarly random manner.
Technique 3: Silk Fabric
Use this technique if you desire a softer, silkier look. As in the Cross Hatch techniques above, use a good quality synthetic brush to cut into the ceiling line and edge. While still wet, soften the ceiling line with the 4”-6” half-inch nap roller to eliminate any straight lines. Using a roll on cross hatch pattern, apply Moire’ Wild Silk to the remainder of the wall. Although the pattern is random, each pass should be consistent. Continue along the wall, cutting in, edging, and rolling in manageable sections. Allow the first layer to dry completely. For the second layer, roll out a thin coat of Wild Silk with a low nap roller in sections of no more than 3’ by 5’. While this second layer is still wet, drag a fabric brush across the material using a sweeping, wavy, horizontal fashion to mimic the folds and shimmer of natural silk. To join sections, roll out Moire’ Wild Silk up to, but not overlapping, the previous section. While still wet, drag a fabric brush from wet to dry and gently lift the brush away from the wall after meeting the previous section. The “lift off” points should be randomly placed into the previous section.
